County Fair

We went to the county fair last night and had a great time (thanks dad!). Since it was a school night we didn't have the time to explore all the animal barns, but we hit the most important one (the horses of course) and here are all the kids petting the many, many horses.

Sarah has been saving all year to ride this pony ride (it's 5 bucks, what a rip off, but that's only my opinion.) She really wanted to ride it last year but we told here that she would need to save her money and ride it next year. So she saved up and with a little help from Grandpa she got to ride the ponies. She said it was definitely worth the 5 bucks.

Kathryn took a turn too.

We also visited the petting zoo. Luke loved the goats and loved to have them suck his fingers.

All the kids got to help milk a cow. This one is just of Kathryn but they all thought it was pretty cool. I guess I have city kids.

Ben (McIntyre) does this animal look familiar?

We spent the rest of the time eating fair food which has not faired well with Sam. He is home sick with a stomach thing, AGAIN!! Two weeks ago he was sick with flu bug for 6 days and finally a week ago started filling better, now this, poor guy. Then we went to the rodeo. Seth said his favorite was the bull riding and Sarah loved all the horses, she was in heaven and best of all they all got free animals from D&B. They are the really nice ones, but we had a funny experience regarding one of them. Seth got a bull, Luke got a calf, Sarah got a female horse and Kathryn picked out a male horse (not knowing it at the time). We get to our seats and open the animals and Kathryn starts whining about her horse and this is what was said:
Kathryn: I don't want this horse.
Mom: Why not?
Kathryn: I want to get a new one!
Mom: Why?
Kathryn: Because it has things between his legs.
Needless to say they had made the horses quite anatomically correct. I thought it was really funny :)

Hangin' Out

Jenny this is for you. So my friend gave me a spa pedicure for my birthday and I just went in and had it done the other day. It was so marvelous. I loved it and now my toes look so cute. Other than that we have just been hanging out while the kids are in school. Here are a few pictures and random things they have been doing.

Luke was trying to eat a cupcake all by himself. Thank heavens he was outside because it was every where.

Doesn't she look so beautiful. What great style :)

Luke has a problem with keeping his pants up. This time he got up on a chair to help me and by the time he got up there they had fallen down. He thought it was so funny and just laughed and laughed.

1st Day of School

Wow! Two in school. I can't believe it. Both of the kids were very excited to go to school this morning, I didn't even have to beg them to get out of bed. (I know that will change soon)
This is Sarah dressed in her school clothes and ready to start her school career. Kindergarten here she comes.

Seth in his school clothes and ready to start 3rd grade. I can't believe that he is that old!!

Sarah in her classroom. They got to bring their favorite stuffed animal and she choose her bear, which she says to loves but doesn't sleep with it every night. I took her into her class and she didn't even get scarred so I left her there for a fun day. She said she had lots of fun, met new friends and read a lot of books.

Seth in front of his classroom. He was ready to go and didn't want any help from me. Boys!

Sarah getting off her bus. Doesn't she look big? (okay so big for her anyway)

All in all they both had a great day. We did have one mishap though. So Seth was suppose to ride the bus home and by about 3pm he still wasn't home (he usually gets home about 2:45). I called the school and bus company and they assured me that the buses were just running late and not to worry. I called my friend whose son gets off the bus after Seth to see if her son was home yet and he wasn't either. So we started calling the bus company again and by 3:45 we got a hold of them (it was busy, busy busy) and found out that they put our sons, plus 12 other kids, on the wrong bus (it took them 20 mins to even find them). They were across town and said they would drop them off when that route was done. I was so worried, ticked and not happy with the school and bus company, not to mention that Seth didn't get off the bus until 5 pm. Arghhhh!!!

Beus Reunion: Day 3

We spent almost all of day 3 at the lake. We had a blast kayaking and canoeing (thanks Katie and Fred), playing in the sand, picnicing and visiting. Kathryn was completely wiped out and fell asleep on her towel.

Seth trying to figure out how to make the kayak work.

Kathryn hanging out with Grandma Beus.

Some of the girls got buried in the sand by the boys. Here is Emma, Sarah, Abbie and Hannah.

Seth posing for the camera. Isn't that a beautiful lake behind him. It was so clear and gorgeous.

We decided we better take some pictures of everyone for posterity sake so here is all the grandkids that came. They are in order of their age, except for the babies.

Here is all the brothers and sister that came. 8 of the 12 is pretty good, I'd say.

That night we had a bonfire and Luke absolutely loved throwing anything he could find into the fire. Aunt Erin brought out the glow sticks and we had a great time doing funny things with them, like Uncle Greg below. Nice glasses, dude :)

Beus Reunion: Day 1 & 2

Last week we had the Beus Reunion at Alturas Lake. We had a great time. It was beautiful up there and the perfect weather. Most of the family came and we had such a wonderful time hanging out and playing (usually way too late at night). These are pictures of what we did the first two days we were there.

We had a marshmellow gun war and it was a huge hit. Everyone painted theirs whatever they wanted and then we took them outside and played boys against girls. And no matter what the boys say, the girls won!

Dave, Fred, Ben and Sam lined up and trying to shoot unsuspecting girls.

Seth with his gun.

Sarah with hers. The kids were quite funny shooting theirs because by the time they shot the marshmellow out their gun it was usually slimy and so sticky with spit that it was disgusting and stuck to anything it hit. Gross!

Sam hiding behind a wood pile trying to get whoever came near.

On Monday night we had FHE with each family doing a skit. We did Weird Al's "Everyone Rides the Bus". It was so funny and we all had a great time laughing our heads off.

Us in our "bus".

Most of the time we just hung out and played. The kids played and played outside in the dirt and tag, which was one of their favorites. Go Uncle Ben! This is Kathryn with here cousing Chase.

Seth with his good buddies: Collin, Parker and Danny.

Sarah hanging out with Emma.

Congrats to Sam!!!

So Sam has been informally looking for a job for quite a while, just in case something good came up. Last week he sent his resume to a firm here. They called the next day and wanted an interview. He interviewed with them Monday night, after work. He thought it went very well and it is just the kind of place he has been looking for. The very next morning they called and said that he could have the job if he wanted it. They have 4 attorneys and have been growing at about 1 attorney a year. They focus on one area of law and told Sam that he can pick what he wants to specialize in. They are very interested in him building up his own practice (unlike where he is now) and actually help him do it, like paying for him to go out once a week with different clients. They even give year-end bonuses, yeah!! Plus this job will is quite a pay raise from where he is now. He starts on Sept. 8th and we are so proud of him :) We feel very blessed and just wanted to share the good news!

Birthday

"...one year older and wiser too, happy birthday to you." Atleast that is what I hope is happening :) I celebrated my birthday the other day and had a fabulous day. So many people remembered and that made it awesome. Sam took me out to dinner to a wonderful pasta place and then we went to our softball game. We had a great time and even won our game (I even had a stellar hit--birthday luck I think). Our awesome neighbor, Janelle watched our kids for us the whole time. The kids had a blast and keep asking if I am leaving somewhere so she can watch them again. Thanks a ton Janelle for watching the kids and for the pedicure, I can't wait. Thanks everyone else for remembering. By the way, this is one of the presents that Sam got me. Isn't it so appropriate?

The Big Day

Seth had an exciting day on Saturday. We had lots of family members come, which was so much fun so thank you everyone for making the trip here and celebrating with us.

This is Seth with a present that he got from his Grandpa and Grandma Beus.

This is the present that he got from his Grandpa and Grandma McIntyre. She made this Harry Potter quilt just for his baptism.

Some of the cousins that came. Spencer, Kathryn, Emily and Benjamin.

Seth with his cousin Danny. They had so much fun playing together, we couldn't keep them away from the legos and were constantly building and playing such imaginative games.

This is the cousins that came with their Aunt Laura. They got to sleep in the tent with her and had a great time.

The most important thing that happened was that Seth was baptized. It was so neat to see him being baptized by Sam. The Spirit was so strong and such a wonderful experience.

Afterwards with the family.

This was everyone that came. Thanks again everyone!!!

That morning, we went to the Temple open house with my family and Sam's parents. It was so fun to go through with everyone. It was so beautiful everywhere and if we could just get Luke to behave it would of been stellar :)

Chris, Seth says thanks for the poster. We put right on the wall by his bed so he can see it all the time. He loved it!
