Riding Horses

Sam works with a man, Wade, and he breeds and train horses. Once Sarah and Kathryn found this out, they have been begging Sam to talk to him and see if they could come see the horses and ride one.

Petting his miniature horse "Pet".

Yearlings that loved to follow us along the fence lines.

I have been wanting to take these pictures for awhile. Luke loves to ride on Seth's back and Seth is so good to him and hauls him like this often. I think it is so cute.

Wade teaching Sarah how to hold the reins and giving her her lesson.

Kathryn's turn.

Luke loved it and Wade even had "Goldie" trot with him and he that was awesome.

Seth was the most hesitant of all, but he did pretty good and held the reins almost the whole time.

Everybody watching. I have such a beautiful family and I love to see them all together and having such a good time.

Canning!

This is why my posts have been so infrequent lately. I have canned and canned and canned some more. Last Wednesday I helped my friend Tara can 44 quarts of peaches, Thursday I canned pears and Friday I canned peaches. I was so tired I took a complete break all weekend (and even into Monday I must admit) and then yesterday Tara and I canned spaghetti sauce.
So far I have done:
67 quarts of green beans (with half coming from my mom)
6 pints chili peppers
22 pints pizza sauce
36 pints salsa
48 quarts pears
42 quarts peaces
27 quarts spaghetti sauce.
Now on to whole tomatoes and applesauce. It feels so great to get them done and add to our food storage. May they taste awesome!

More Luke Adventures!

SO we have decided to start the adventure of potty training with Luke. He tells us when he pees and poops in his diaper so I thought I better not put it off too much longer. Yesterday we bought underwear. He was so excited because they had "CARS" on them and wanted to put them on immediately. Isn't he so cute?

His friend Paige also came to play yesterday and she thought his underwear were the coolest things ever and would get very upset when Luke wanted them. She stayed like this for several hours. So funny!

Luke also loves to listen to Sam's music and can be caught many time like this. He has to hold them in his ears and then he will try to dance. So cute!!

First Day of School

Yeah it's here! Seth and Sarah were very excited to start school (okay, I admit it, so was I). Seth said he was just too bored at home, so I guess it's good that the day finally arrived. Our school started uniforms this year, hence the colors.

Sarah sporting her new look for the year and in her classroom. They are building a new building and the chairs didn't arrive, oops!, they are on the floor for now.

Seth with his new look (not much different for him) and in his classroom, yeah their chairs came!

S'mores

We had a great Labor Day and to end the evening we had s'mores over our fire pit in the backyard. Seth and Sarah picked our dessert since they started school the next day.

Everyone enjoying the warmth (it was actually a quite cool day, ahhh fall is in the air :)

Luke is a pyro and was completely enthralled with the whole fire experience.

Fair

We look forward to this time of year. The kids love to go to the fair and we spend hours there. We went yesterday and started with the petting zoo. The kids love feeding and petting the animals (okay mostly goats).

Kathryn and Sarah got to brush a cow.

Of course Sarah found the ponies.

We then visited the merchandise buildings and the Ag building. There we played games, won prizes and mostly got out the heat.

Isn't Sarah such a cute sheep?

Kathryn our crying onion.

Seth the cob of corn.

Of course we had to take breaks for the potty (sick!! Fair bathrooms are disgusting). Luke is just hanging out while we wait for the girls to get done. Then we were off to the animal barns. Were we spend the majority of our time.

Can you tell what the kids liked the most?

We did also get to see bunnies...

funny looking chickens...

cows...and more cows.

The day was beautiful and we had so much fun. We topped the day off by watching the BYU Oklahoma game with friends and they won. GO BYU!!!!!!!!!!
