Seth's Adventures

Seth has done some big things lately and just wanted to share some pictures.  First he and his scout troop got to march in our Arbor Day Parade.
Then he performed in his school's "Beauty & the Beast" play as Lefou.  He did awesome!
Hanging out with Gaston.
Several scenes that he was in.  It was fun to watch and quite comical at times, but we loved watching him get out of his shell, even singing a solo.  Good job, Seth!!

What do you say?

This was a conversation that happened this morning as I was doing Kathryn's hair.  I was flabbergasted and had no idea what to say.  I'm not a bad parent right?
K:  Mom you need to wash my towel.
M:  I just washed your towel a couple days ago.
K:  But it has pee on it.
M:  Why does it have pee on it?
K:  Cause I use it clean up the pee on the floor in my room.
M: (me trying not to freak out) Why is there pee on your floor?
K:  Because when I get out of the shower I always have to go pee when I get in my room and I am too cold to go back in the bathroom.  I clean it up with my towel.
What do you say to that?  I mean how long has this been going on?!!!!?  I didn't even ask, I did not want to know.  To my credit, I didn't even yell.  I just told her if she did that again she would have to start wearing diapers because that's what babies do and if she wanted to be a baby that was fine with me.

Why, oh why...

Can I complain for a few minutes...I guess that's not really a question so you can stop now if you don't want to read it but here goes.  Why does everything have to happen at the same time?  So the other night we smelled gas in our basement and we found out that our furnace was leaking gas, as was our water heater.  That means we have to replace both of them.  You know I didn't want to do anything fun with that money anyway, like a fence so everybody can't see in my backyard or taking our kids to Disneyland.  Then I had a dentist appointment today and now we "get" to pay for fillings.  Add that to things that I shouldn't complain about because it would only bore you further and make me seem even more petty and we are having a pity party!!!!!
Sorry for the ramblings.  Here's what we were doing this week, at least until it started raining 2 days ago and hasn't stopped.  We were close to 80 degrees so out came the water and popsicles and we had a grand time.

Niagra Springs

Last Saturday we took off with some friends to a fun area in the canyon and had a fabulous day.  We bbq'ed, fished, lounged in the sun, played in the water, and had so much fun.

Workin' Outside

You know how you start one little project and then it snowballs into tons, well that's what we did on Friday.  It all started with removing one section of the fence so a guy could deliver some compost for my garden and then...no more fence, new garden area and an open backyard.  What were we thinking?  We had planned to move the fence in several years to incorporate the side yard and make the whole fenced area much bigger but I didn't plan on having no fence at all this soon, hopefully we get it fixed soon!
Digging the posts out was difficult and the kids discovered that they were super fun to play in after the post came out (the extra kids are our neighbors).
Luke and Seth mostly just hung out in the truck "supervising" and I had to take a picture of this because I amde it all by myself for the girls to have their own garden space.  They are quite excited and are going to plan strawberries and sunflowers!

Kathryns 6!!!

We had several parties last week for Kathryn, a family one and a friend.  She has been counting down for weeks and was so excited to see it finally here.
For the family one we made one of her favorite desserts, peanut butter cookies, which is why the candles are sticking out of them.  Then on Saturday we had the friend party.  She had a great time with her friends!
They payed pin the "pot-of-gold" on the rainbow, hide-n-go seek and hit the pinata.  We made a rainbow cake and it turned out awesome.
(sorry I can't figure out how to rotate the frame)

Easter: Beesleys

For part of our festivities we had Sam's sister's family come stay with us for a few days.  The kids absolutely loved having their cousins here.  They slid down the stairs for hours,
we went on walks,
hiked through the canyon and some waterfalls,
had a movie night and slumber party downstairs,
found Easter baskets,
hunted Easter Eggs,
watched (or in the adults cases slept) conference,
and ate a yummy Easter dinner.
Thanks for coming guys, we loved having you here!

Easter: Hunting & Dying Eggs

We started the week off by having an Easter Egg hunt with our ward.  There were tons of kids and it was so windy and cold, but the show must go on (at least that's what the kids said!).

Then on Friday our neighbors came over and we painted eggs.  We have never tried the painting kind and I thought it worked much better than dying the eggs, much more hands on.
