Jungle Book--Kathryn

This cute girl got to be Shere Khan in the 4th grade version of The Jungle Book.
With Ashley and Afton (an elephant and vulture).
She had one solo and did great. She loves to speak loudly so this was a perfect part for her.
Here she is sneaking up on the monkeys.
Can you see her back there?
Another section of lines, everyone is scarred of her and is running away.

She was so cute up there. She had such great confidence and was not phased by anything.

Stalking and roaring through the jungle.
Counting to give the jungle time to get away,
but they come up with a plan and start "attacking" Shere Khan to scar her and get her to leave the jungle.

Still "attacking"
Finally scare her off,
and it's over. She did such a great job and we were so proud of her and all the hard work she put in to being ready for this play!!

Easter--Part 2!!

Nothing says Spring to me as when the blossoms start popping up everywhere I look. These beautiful buds were on our apple tree. Aren't they amazing? It reminds of life and the chance we have to start over "every year" (or every day in my case) and how much it ties to Easter. #BecauseofHim I have an amazing life,
 the most beautiful kids,
the most amazing man with me forever,
a chance to repent and start over every time I mess up,
the ability to be with everyone I love for forever,
the amazing opportunity to share that with others and see the joy come into their lives,
the ability to CHOOSE happiness and joy,
the awesome chance to serve and be HIS hands,
and see the amazing beauty that surrounds us. Wow!! what a great life we have been given and because of so many chances to grow and learn lately, I am seeing things with a new perspective and what a difference it makes. I love this Gospel and mostly my Savior. #BecauseofHim I have everything!!!
Sunday morning we colored eggs. The kids were so excited to do it all themselves.
Which is an awesome part of having older kids. Seth picked out the kind of dye and activities to do (since he was with me at the grocery store because he had been suspended from school for half the day--yeah!! let's not get into that one but hey we're all on our own journey of figuring out life!!)
These two faces just makes my heart melt!!
 Eggs drying...
After a yummy breakfast the Easter bunny "finally" showed up. Sarah was the first to find her basket, then me,
then Luke (who had to have a tiny bit of help),
Kathryn was next with some hints from Dad,
Seth was next with quite a few hints, and then Sam was last with LOTS of help from me. Haha...it was probably a solid 25 minutes for him to find his basket. It was so funny!!!
Playing with the remote control car--first one we've ever had.
After a super delicious dinner (at Sam's request we had ribs from our pig--really the pig we bought from my brother and if you ever want one from him, they are amazing!!)
To keep the kids entertained while we waited for Sam to get from counting tithing I hid the eggs in the back yard. Can you see who's excited to find eggs? It must be the age....
 Finding
 hunting,
giggling (love it--I really think it is the age!!)
and finding. What a beautiful day to celebrate. I am so blessed!!

Easter--Part 1!!

Some good friends in the ward put together a BBQ and Easter Egg hunt the day before Easter. Sarah and Seth were at friend's houses and I made it back just in time from a fun couple days with my mom and sister Emily (that's a different story and man do I love having the most wonderful sisters and mom to hang out with!!).
Luke did not want to miss the hunt so they put some eggs together, grabbed some hot dogs and cookies, picked me up and we headed to the park. We got there just in time to party with everyone.
Can you see Luke getting ready to run, he was so excited to be a part of "the hunt". It was so cute and I loved seeing his excitement.
He was so happy to be running everywhere to find his eggs.
The girls were content to take their time and find really hidden ones. I guess that's part of growing up, "the hunt" is pretty fun but you are more there to just enjoy all parts!
The kiddos with their eggs and big smiles (and Sam eating his hot dog, haha....)
Eating their dinner and treats from their eggs. What a wonderful day to celebrate!
We ended the night by picking up the kids and touring some friend's new house. The kids were so content to be happy and enjoy life. What a great lesson to me and what a great way to start the night into Easter.
