Seth's Violin Recital

Seth has been playing the violin for 3 years now and we have recently switched teachers.  his new teacher is fabulous and we absolutely love her.  Seth has come so far in just the one month he has been with her.  His other teacher never had recitals or had her students play in festivals so this was brand new to Seth but he did awesome and we are so excited for the potential he has with her.

He is playing Gavotte in G minor by Bach.

Luke's 5th Birthday

This boy has been so excited for his birthday.  He found his chair all decorated when he came up that morning and thought he was pretty lucky.  He had requested eggs (he could eat them every morning if I would let him) and waffles for breakfast.
He got to play at a friend's house that morning then we after a run to his favorite drink place, Sonic (a boy after my own heart), we all headed to the church gym to play some games.
No birthday is complete without a pouting session.  This was because they were playing soccer and Sam wouldn't let him pick up the ball with his hands, pretty mean huh!!
Then we went home to have his requested dinner, chicken nuggets (which he chose after I told him we probably wouldn't be having prime rib even if it was his birthday).  He had also requested brownies and homemade ice cream for his "cake", which I thought was pretty sweet.
 Blowing out candles.
Showing everyone how old he is.
He also got to invite one of his bestest friends over for dinner, dessert, and skating (forgot the camera but we had a grand time).
Giving Ava a hug because she got him Legos.
He was so excited for this.  All he wanted was some firetruck legos for his present, so he was pretty stoked to see these beauties.  Also do you see what Seth is doing in the background?  I think someone else was excited to get his hands on these legos too!

Some things about Luke:
His favorite shows right now are phineas and ferb, wonder pets, and backyardigans.
He loves to draw semi trucks, and is quite good at them.
He loves to call and talk to Grandma, at least several times a week.
He loves to write words and numbers all over paper and is very excited to go to kindergarten.
He still has speech therapy twice a week but he is getting better.
His favorites games are board game island in the wii and angry birds.
He is a great help to me during the day and loves when the kids come home from school because he knows it's time to play.

Valentine's Day

We had a low key Valentine's Day this year.  Grandpa and Grandma sent the kids their favorite snacks, which they were in heaven about.  For breakfast we made red velvet crepes (which turned out delicious) and then a yummy pasta dish for dinner.  The kids got their own Valentines from us and they got to a Valentines party with their friends a couple days later.

Stake Family Dance

Every year our stake does a family dance.  The kids totally love it and it's a great opportunity for Sam and I to get some dancing time in.  This year's theme was hawaiin.

Seth's Basketball Season

This year Seth has gotten to play on a great city rec team.  These are his team mates and some of them are quite good.

Seth has improved a ton this year.  He gets to play at least half the time, which we are thrilled with.  He  gets lots of
defending time,
 waiting time,
shooting everyone once in a while,
 dribbling,
sometimes he even gets to go for the loose ball
 and
sometimes he even gets to pass it.
Good job Seth!  This year his team is ranked #1 going into the tournament and he is very excited about it.
