Kathryn's Spring Soccer

Kathryn is our little sports player.
She loves to be out running around and being physical.
She got to play on a great team with all her friends from school.
(notice something funny about this picture?)
I guess that is what happens when everyone is only in 1st grade. :)
Another thing she loves to be is the goalie.
She is not afraid to run up and grab the ball and even has a pretty good goal kick!
She also loves to throw the ball in.  All of the girls beg the referee for a turn and they love it when he picks them.
And this is what Seth and Sarah do during her games.  Seth thinks we are quite rude because we won't let him stay home but hey it's family time right?  (at least that's what I tell myself as they are whining to me the whole way about how it's too cold and SOOO boring and WHY do they have to come, anyway...)
We made it through and Kathryn did a fabulous job!

Sarah's Spring Soccer

The first year we moved here I let Seth play spring soccer.
It was a nightmare.  It was so windy, cold, and rainy that I swore I would never do that again.
Four years later I guess I forgot just how cold it was!  Now I remember but we are never playing in the spring again (hold me to it-k-!).
Anyways, the girls did have fun even though it was quite miserable most game days.  Sam was able to be Sarah's coach and they did very well.
Sarah touched the ball way more this season which was a great improvement from last time.  And talked much less while on the field playing.
 Good job, Sarah!

Easter

We had a wonderful Easter hope you did too.

This year we tried something different.  We started the week before Easter and would read and talk about what Christ did on that day.  It led to some great discussions and really helped us prepare and focus on why we celebrate Easter.  Hopefully some of that stuck and they will remember how important the Resurrection is.

Sunday morning they found their baskets which were hidden not so well.  Ha, ha, funny story.  So I put their baskets together Saturday night in my room.  I was very tired and had quite a long day so I lay down in bed and was going to have Sam hide them--he's much more creative with that kind of stuff.  Well I forgot to tell him and I woke up abruptly at 6:30am realizing they hadn't been hidden and any minute Luke was going to wander in and see them.  So I jumped out of bed and hid baskets.  Silly me!

All the kids got some new Easter clothes so I decide to have a photo shoot.  The girls did great and as you can see, the boys were not so impressed!

Such cute kids!!

Easter Egg Hunt

Every year our ward does an Easter Egg Hunt.  I love it because it is calm, for an Easter Egg Hunt anyway, and my kids come home with as many eggs as they brought.

No crying because they didn't find any eggs.

No whining because they got pushed out of the way.

Just pure happiness and lots of candy, yeah!

Now on to the best part, eating your candy.  Yummy!

Aren't these girls so cute!!  It's Kathryn with her best friend Maddi.

A quick trip

As part of my Grandma's funeral we left in the kids on Salt Lake with aunts and uncles (thanks so much Liz, Katie, and Annalyn).  On the way back through we picked them up and then got to hang out with Sam's family for a day.

We played bocci, which was lots of fun and is very intense (he, he, he).

Sam is showing off his muscles, so sexy huh!?!

Then we climbed some trees, ate some yummy food, and visited with everyone.

This Little Sam, so cute huh!!

Then it was off to home to got back to life.

Grandma Lois's Funeral

This past weekend we were able to go to Southern Utah for my Grandma Lois's funeral (she is really my step-Grandma but she treated us like those was no staircase involved).  She had lived a great life and died old and very happy.  Her funeral was filled with tears and lots of laugh because she was an amazing person.

It was a great weekend especially because all my mom's brothers and sisters were there and they haven't been together for 21 years.  A lot of the cousins came also and we had a grand time visiting and hanging out.
My mom with her brothers and sisters.

Before the funeral we took some pictures.

After the funeral we ate a great lunch and visited some more (that's what happens when you haven't seen cousins for 10-15 years).
Some of my nephews trying to stay happy after a very long day.

My parents.

Afterwards we headed out to the cemetery where my Grandpa and Grandma B were buried.  It is quite a desolate little area but so good to go back and remember them.
