Memorial Day

We had a wonderful long weekend with lots of family stopping by.  Sam's brother Ben and his wife Renee and their two little girls came on Saturday and stayed until Monday.  We had a blast with them.
My kids always love to play with Uncle Ben because he is so fun.

Saturday and Sunday were pretty wet and rainy so we stayed inside and played lots and lots and lots of games.  At one point we had two different games of Ticket to Ride going on.  It was a blast.
Monday we had super, super nice weather and they were so nice to help us weed our garden and get our 28 tomato plants planted and several peppers.  It was wonderful to have so much help.  (if you look closely you can see that Sam is not so happy though, he really doesn't like to work in the garden :)
Afterwards we were all done working we had a delicious bbq, played a few more games, went down in the canyon, and then had family night before they had to take off.  Thanks for coming Ben and Renee, we had a blast!!

Girls and kitties

When we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house last weekend, these two girls fell in love.  Can you tell with what!!??
They spent hours and hours with "Tom", dressing him up, giving him rides, holding him, making a list of things to train him to do, trying to tame his brothers, and just holding him all the time.
Oh AND trying to convince me to take him home!!!
I stayed strong but Sam totally caved.  Everyone in this house is an animal lover but me and I never hear the end of it!!
But when it was time to go Tom hid from all of us and they couldn't find him, still can't so we are currently cat free so we will see how long that lasts because Grandma and Grandpa are diligently searching for him to send him to us.  Silly grandparents!!

Mother's Day

Oh man I am so behind....oh well it seems to be my life at this moment.  The key is to focus on one thing at a time and then when that's done think about the next.  So in honor of that...I am going to focus on writing a blog post.

I had an absolutely, fabulous, wonderful Mother's Day.  I got to do absolutely nothing except go to church and I LOVED it!!
This guy made me have a wonderful day.  He is a great husband and a great father.  He made me breakfast (omelets) because he didn't have any meetings that morning.  Then after church I got to sit on the porch with a book and a diet coke (a present from him :) while he made dinner with kids.
The kids (at least Kathryn and Luke) thought it was pretty cool to help.  Luke has started helping cook so this was great, Sam let him flip the steaks and he was in hog heaven.
Afterwards we ate strawberry shortcake (my absolute favorite) and opened the rest of my presents.  I got these super comfy flip flops and some flowers to plant in my pots.  It was wonderful and I am so thankful that I am a mom!

The Big Day!!

This girl got baptized last Saturday, the 5th, and she was one happy girl.  Beforehand she got to have a photo shoot in her dress.  These are some of my favorites.

The day turned out quite cold but started warming up but here she is in her whites waiting for it to begin.

We had lots of family come to town to see her and we were so glad they were able to make it.  Her school teacher, Mrs. Archibald and her church teachers, Brother and Sister Higbee came also.  She was so happy to have everyone there.
The men who helped confirm her.
 Her grandparents.
 McIntyre cousins.
And a few Beus cousins that were able to make it.
Afterwards we came back to our house for a delicious lunch with everyone and she just played to her heart's content.  Thank you everyone for supporting her and coming to visit.  We loved having you all come over.

Kathryn in Bugz Musical

Kathryn this year got to be the "stink bug" in her grade's musical.  She was so excited for it until the day of the actual event.  She didn't want to wear the hat (don't blame her on that one).
She did a great job even though she was a little sad about it and by the end she perked right up.
The songs in the play are super cute and she just loved them, especially the Firefly one (down below).

At the end the rest of the bugs invite her to the picnic even though she is stinky and then they sing a song about her.

At the end with one of her good friends, Ashley.
 Part of her class.

Seth

6th grade also performed Mulan this year.  Seth was Ling and he did a fantastic job.  It's amazing how much better their plays are every year.  This year the timing of their jokes were on and we laughed often.
This is the opening of the play and a few dancing picture below.

 With Mulan.
 Singing one of his songs.

These three boys were awesome.  They did a great job and were so funny!
Especially when they dressed up as girls and used their fans.
At the end with Bren (on the left and one of the ancestors), Julan (Mushu), and Seth.
