Visitors

This past week we were able to have my sister from Seattle, her two kids and my mom come stay with us for a few days.  We had a grand time and of course I took like two pictures the whole time.  ARGHHHH!!  Anyway we were so glad they came.  One morning Kathryn got the music going and the kids started dancing (a very favorite past time at our house).  I went downstairs to turn the music down, the house was shaking, and this is what I found...
Atleast he has the decency to cover up for this picture and I am definitely saving these for his teenage years.  Luke is so....Luke.  There is really no other word to describe him.  This is what he was doing today
he stayed like this for a 1/2 hour because the guy next door was rototilling in his back yard.  Silly boy, what to do with him!!

Another Photo Shoot

I think we have some budding photographers on our hands (he, he, he), what do you think?
This is what I found on my camera when I went to upload pictures tonight.  I guess they must be taking after their mother, oh well hopefully they will improve with age :)

Can I be proud...?

My brother and his wife had a little girl and it gave me a chance to work on some projects that I have been wanting to try.  I am not creative by nature but I can copy things so I saw these ideas and put them together for my new niece.
I made it all myself and was happy (and proud in a good way) with how it turned out.  The other thing I was proud of was that I got all this for FREE, yep free, didn't pay one cent for it!!!

Spring Break II

Some of the other things we did for Spring Break.
Twin always does a parade for St. Patties.  The kids really enjoy it because it's only about 20 minutes long but it's another story for me.  The parade brings out the coarser element of the city, everyone's allowed to smoke and the parade this year even had a "athletic pole dancing" float (athletic my eye, especially because it was sponsered by one of the local bars).  Anyways, enough about that...
this is what we ate for dinner that night.  Homemade "green" mac-n-cheese, "green" beans and "green" lemonade.  The kids thought is was great.
The rest of spring break was spent playing outside for hours and this...
Luke would be so tired after playing we found him like this several times.  It was so cute!

Spring Break

It's Spring Break this week at our house.  It has been absolutely beautiful outside and we have been loving it!  Yesterday we went to the movie theater for one of the $1 movies (which was wonderful motivation for the kids to get their jobs done--don't you love bribes!!).  Then we spent about 3 hours outside, riding our bikes, going on walks and playing with friends.
Today we took another bike ride with friends and then it was off to play with more friends this afternoon.
The best thing that has happened this week (at least for me) is......
Luke is potty trained!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  (by the way, isn't that so cute :)  He just decided a couple days ago that he wanted to do this and he has done awesome.  He goes most of the time by himself and hasn't had an accident for two days now.  We are so excited to stop buying diapers and have a BIG BOY in the house.  (that's his favorite thing to say lately, "I a big boy!")

Getting Away....and my new love!

This last Thursday Sam and I went on a get away.  He had a 2 day conference in Sun Valley and I got to go with him.  My mom came to stay with the kids and we took off.  Work paid for a beautiful room in the Lodge and all our food.  It was so relaxing and I loved it.  I spent the days reading my books, watching TLC (we don't have cable at home), sleeping in, exercising, and walking through quaint little shops in Ketchum.  When Sam came back we got to enjoy dinner, swimming, movies and lots of time without the kids.
The kids had a wonderful time with Grandma and didn't really want us to come back but alas back to the normal life.  Thanks again Grandma for coming and taking such good care of the kids :)!
But on to my new love.  We had a new windows put in our house this last week (I am doing all the touch up work to save money so I will post picture when that is done) and this:
We had a carpenter build in another set of shelves for us in the laundry room.  I have so much more room to put jars and food storage and I absolutely love it.  Every time I go in there all I can do is smile, it is beautiful!!

Spring Days!!!

It has been beautiful weather here for the past week and we have taken full advantage of it.  We set up the trampoline,

planted two trees (an apple and a pear, I am so excited), cleaned out the garden area, worked on the girls garden area (they want their own space to grow strawberries), organized the garage and blew in insulation into the attic over our garage.  The warm weather makes me smile and want to be outside constantly.
We have also had a few other adventures.  Since Sam is gone a lot more in the evenings, I thought I should find some fun things to do with the kids.  This last week we made bathtub paints and then I let the kids paint all over.  They thought it was the greatest.

I just had to take a picture of these flowers that Sam brought me.  I had a rough morning the other day (Luke got up early and then after making muffins, I went to put them in the oven and hit the edge and dumped them all over the bottom of the oven, argh!!!!) and he decided to stay home and work on projects and bring me these.
