Day 5-Downtown Seattle

Pike's Place
What a fun market!  I have never been to a place like this before and I was absolutely mesmerized by all the vegetables, fruit, flowers, pasta, vinegars, fish, and merchandise.  I wanted to take it all home with me and I would love to have access to fresh stuff like this everyday for meals.  Mmmm, delicious!

I brought home some fresh scallops for Sam and he was in heaven.  I will be sharing that recipe on my blog in the next few days if you want it.  I dislike scallops quite a bit but these were very tasty!

After wandering around the market for awhile we headed over to The Crab Pot.

My sister is always telling us how good this place is and we were very excited to try it out.  You know me and food!

They even put your bibs on for you, how sweet!
Our yummy food!

We had King Crab legs and WOW!!  I loved them.  Cooked perfectly and so delicious.  Plus they dump them on your table and you get to eat with your hands (and a mallet).  So fun!!

After that we had to have dessert.  Oh my!  They specialize in caramel apples and boy was it worth all those calories.  So many options, I could barely choose, but I finally decided on this little beauty:
So pretty and so tasty.

We decided we should maybe walk some that off so we wandered around Seattle some more.  We went up to the observation tower in the Columbia Building and only stayed about 5 minutes.  Jenny has some height phobias (he, he, he).  But it was beautiful up there.

What a great day we had and thanks Chris for being such a good sport and taking care of 6 kiddos!
Also thanks for letting us come visit Jenny, we had a grand time and the kids are still talking about it :)

Day 4-Alki Beach and the Mall

Another beautiful day in Seattle.  Yes!  We were so blessed with amazing weather (it usually rains all the time at this time of the year so we were very excited) so we decided to check out one of their favorite beaches.

Who knew that it was at least 10 degrees colder by the water?  Oh well, I played around with my camera--which I am totally loving, and had a picnic lunch.

Pretty sweet huh?  It's for posterity sakes... :)
Then I had to take a picture of the famous sky line of Seattle.  I think I did a pretty good job, especially considering I was all the way across the sound.

Afterwards we headed to the mall to waste some time before heading over to the Museum of Flight.  We had a grand time on the escalators, checking out the "family restrooms" (we seriously need some of these in Idaho), and doing some shopping.

I was in heaven and I don't even like to shop.  I  had no idea that most of those stores even existed.  Like Crazy 8.  I am in love!!!  They carry slim jeans for older girls with adjustable waists but the cool thing is...their slim jeans actually fit Sarah with very minor adjustments.  This is huge people!!

Anyways...we met my brother-in-law at the Museum so he could show Seth around for a while.  Seth loves many kinds of airplanes but especially F-22's so Chris was kind enough to show him around for a while.
We took a few pictures outside before they headed in.  Thanks Chris for taking him around, he loved it!

What a fun day!

Day 2-Woodland Park Zoo

What a beautiful day!

Perfect for the Zoo.  The kids were so excited to go, I could barely get them to take a picture for me because they were so antsy to get in.  I mean, just look at that picture.  Funny in so many ways!!
We have never seen a zoo quite like this one.  It was absolutely massive and amazing.  We walked for at least 4 hours and still did not see all the animals.  I think missed 1/3 of them, crazy!
He was very intent on the map, so cute!

We got to see:
 hippos,
 elephants,
 kamodo dragons,
lots of birds, and pretty much anything else you could think of.  Even farm animals.  My kids weren't so impressed with that part and puking gorillas, the kids favorite...of course!
The cousins--Katy was a little concerned she was going to fall off.
Another highlight was an old fashioned carousel.  The girls were in love, but Luke and Ryan couldn't be talked into riding one.  They were so happy to be sitting on a bench.
 Grandma watching from the sidelines.

We loved the zoo and can't wait to visit it again!

Day 2-Seattle

On our first entire day in Seattle (actually my sister lives in a suburb of Seattle but hey who's keeping track), we decided to take the kids to IKEA.  Living here our closest IKEA is Salt Lake and I love this store.  Maybe because I have only been twice in my life!

Anyway, all the kids but Seth played in the children's area (he was too old) while we wandered around.  Man I found some sweet stuff.  I can't wait to try it out.  After eating lunch there we headed back to my sister's house and took the kids for a walk to park near by.

The kids had a grand time and I had a grand time shooting pictures.  There are a lot of pictures below, just so you know!

Jenny worked with Sarah learning gymnastics.

By the end they were getting quite tired, can you tell?  So off it was back to the house.
For fhe that night we had crepes--my kids favorite!

What a beautiful day we had and so much fun with cousins.
