For Spring Break this year we headed to beautiful Bear Lake for the McIntyre Family Reunion. We had almost everyone there (the 3 youngest girls were not available to come--super bummer!!)
We rented the most amazing house! It overlooked the lake and was over 9100 sq ft. Boy were we all in heaven. The kids played and played and played and were absolutely worn out every night we were there.
On the bottom floor is had an indoor playground with a half court basketball hoop, trampoline in the ground, swing set, putting green, and a play set. Can you see why we never saw them?
Plus going down to each floor was a slide that you could take instead of the stairs. It wasn't super friendly for the adults to use (trust me I tried...) but the kids loved it.
In the kitchen was this nifty area and perfect for the little people...
or for timeout. Can you guess which one is in time out?
Toddler row was so cute. Just missing one, but man were they all adorable!!
Sam being his silly self...love him!!
We arrived Monday afternoon so Monday night we had a great FHE. The parents (grandparents to the kiddos) were in charge of the lesson.
They did a super fun lesson on how each member of the family was important and essential.
Love that face!!! She is such a doll (:
All the grandkids got a bag that had their name and an ingredient in it. They each had a turn to open it up and see what it was and see why it was so important to the recipe.
The end result was chocolate chip cookies that we got to eat for treats.
The grandkids thought it was the best. They loved having their own bags and loved being a part of things.
Even the arm challenged one...hahaha!!!
See even the adults were in on it. Afterwards Brad and Jill had a fun activity for the kids. "Don't Eat Pete" and besides only 1 melt down (my child) it was great and super fun game.
The boys playing their game.
After the kids were in bed, we ended the evening with my parents asking us questions and all of us taking turns to answer them. It was lots of fun and full of laughter. It was also interspersed with this scene. Spencer was on a roll and these poor ladies were the brunt of it!!
I loved hearing people's answers to all sorts of random fun questions. The highlight of the night for me was Sam answering the question, "If there was one thing you would change about high school what would it be?". Everyone gave mostly uplifting answers like "be nicer to people", "stay awake", "be friends with more people" but not Sam. He says, "I wished I would of showered more!!". We all died laughing, especially me, because I knew he was totally serious.
What a super fun first day!!
