I never keep a record of the things I can so this year I thought I would put it on my blog so I don't lose it. This year was definitely a great harvest. Our garden did awesome, as a matter of fact I still have about 75 tomatoes on my plants and that's after canning a ton for us and giving away the last 2 pickings. Anyway, the above picture is apple pie filling I did today and so far this is what I have done:
Applesauce: 48 quarts
Apple pie filling: 12 quarts
Peaches: 36 quarts
Pears: 11 quarts
Whole tomatoes: 42 quarts
Salsa: 23 pints
Spaghetti sauce: 20 quarts
Pizza sauce: 10 pints
Sweet-n-Sour sauce: 7 quarts
Pickles: 6 quarts
Cherries: 7 quarts
Beets: 20 pints
Wow! I am glad to be almost done. I love seeing everything go into jars and looking so pretty. Enjoy the harvest :)

Wow - you are awesome!
That is amazing! There is nothing like the satisfaction of being prepared, and it is so much better if you don't have to pay for a lot of it! Way to go!
that is an impressive harvest indeed. where did all the produce come from? do you have apple, peach and pear trees or did you buy then can that stuff? i bet everything looks so awesome on your shelf... well done!
Wow, you are so ambitious!! I am very impressed.
nice job..i can't believe fall is all ready here. it was fun to see you guys!
Julie, you are your Mother's daughter aren't you??? :0) I can't believe how much you've canned. That is great! Hope your feeling good! Love, Kim
okay, so how do you do it?!
I canned peach jam for the first time this year - turned out to be peach syrup and we've been sampling it on pancakes and french toast... I may be getting my hands of a ton of apples & pears pretty soon - would you mind sharing your recipes for those two things for canning? I'm just learning and am terrified of doing something stupid and having a ton of jarred yuckyness...
Haven't checked you blog in a while - so relieved to hear that you are doing well - will keep you in our prayers!
Hugs!
You need to teach me ; ) I am making Dan build me some shelves to put food storage on. Big house and NO storage- LAME! But I LOVE our home! Hey, I'll be in Twin FFalls for my cousins wedding on Nov. 16...still live there? We should hook up. Just me and the kids- Dan has trial.
so jealous, I woke up this morning to snow on the ground (I'd read the weather advisory but spaced it or I would have pulled my plants and brought them in the garage) as it is my tarps blew off my plants. No more tomatos for me, and they were loaded with fruit! But hey, I am happy for you!
AMAZING is all I can say!! I did canning this year, but not even a quarter of what you did. Glad you're feeling better. Love, Natalie
You deserve the "Mother of the Year" award because you were able to do all of that and STILL manage to keep up with your family! I am soooo impressed with your abilities! I can't wait to have our own garden (cross my fingers that it'll be next year!) and then I can be a mad canner myself... maybe I'll be calling on you for a few tips!
How the heck did you can all that. I thought I did good to do peaches and jam this year! I still remember you introducing me to canning when you lived at Wymount. You had me hooked. :)
Wow! Look at you! That's incredible! In Alaska we have such a short growing season and so few things that will grow here. I managed to get a lot of jam and homemade honey, but nothing like you, superwoman! Very impressive!
