(because this is a form of my journal bear with me or just stop reading. I really hate talking about my callings but for posterity sakes I thought I should write this down)
This is what my office use to look like. And that's only what would fit in the picture. That's what happens when you are the primary secretary (or use to be anyway).
I learned to love being in primary but I didn't learn to love the end of the year chaos. Especially when you have 102 children in primary.
Okay let me back up a minute, at the beginning of November of last year, I got a call from one of our High Councilmen and he asked me to serve as the stake girls camp director. I was absolutely floored. You see I have never been involved with Young Women's before (except a small stint last year cooking for our ward camp). I said yes and proceeded to try not to freak out and get all my ducks in a row.
You see also, camp director is not a calling in our stake, it's an assignment, so you get to keep your regular calling, which at the time was primary secretary. I was okay with that mostly because I like to be busy and have things to do and maybe some of what other people say, "you have no idea what you are getting into".
Anyway, the end of the year was absolutely crazy BUT everything got updated, redone, and organized for the new year.
THEN, I got a call from the executive secretary in our ward asking if the Bishop could meet with Sam and I, which I found weird because Sam is in the Bishopric already so he obviously knew what was going on. Now I am relief society second counselor and very scared/excited. I always love to be with the women in my ward (you know me and talking/visiting) and I have never had a relief society calling before so I was excited for that part. But I get to be over relief society weekday meetings (thanks Jenny for all your awesome ideas) and that is what has me a little scared. I guess I just need to treat it like a monthly party and I should be fine because I do like a good party!
So here's to life and if my blog doesn't get updated very often you will know why!

Julie,
You will be amazing at this calling, as I am sure you were with the other callings. Your touch will be exactly what the sisters in your ward need! My prayers are with you as you "adjust." Love ya'!
I always feel sorry for our primary's secretary too! We currently have around 120 kids probably more and so many teachers. I'm sure you'll be great in RS. Don't forget to do some service together once in a while. I'm get tried of the parties every month. I want to really do something with the sisters in my ward that is good and uplifting.
I was so excited when you got called into Relief Society because I knew you would plan fun things. You did a great job as ward activity person. PS Being in charge of stake girls camp sounds super amazing! I loved girls camp and think you probably did too! You will rock it! They are lucky to have thought of you!
