Seth Update

4 days before we took off for the wedding reception this cute boy got braces on his top teeth and expander put across the roof of his mouth. Boy it sure bothered him--couldn't eat solid food for days!! But let me tell you, after the arms he doesn't complain one bit about his teeth now. Love it (:

This last Tuesday we went in to see the orthopedic doc. He had some more x rays done because he just couldn't quite believe that Seth didn't need surgery. But sure enough, they still look awesome. He did tell us though that his right arm (the one that bothered him the most at the time) was broken in 4 places, 2 in the ulna and 2 in the radius. The left arm was just broken twice, once in each bone.
Everything was looking so good he decided to go ahead and cast him up. They hooked his fingers up to this nifty chinese finger trap and went to work. He was a trooper, even though it was still painful.
He decided to go with red on one arm and black on the other. This cute lady working on the casts was telling us that she just came back to work after a 4 wheeling accident she was in last fall. She spent 1 month in ICU. I just feel so blessed every time I hear a story like that.
Seth is still doing awesome. He hasn't had any pain meds since yesterday (and has only had Tylenol and Ibruprofen the whole time). It is just amazing!! He feels great. He has learned how to turn pages of books (yeah!!), use the mouse on the computer, and text on phone. Thank heavens for fingers, he says!!
We are thanking heavens for every part of him!!!

Such a scary experience to go through as a mom! These are the things I fear the most since becoming a mother. Your sweet Seth was so brave, and sounds like he continues to be, and your other kids were too! How sweet that they comforted each other. Loved reading that. I hope he heals quickly and with little pain from here on. So glad he could avoid any surgery!
