We have the most amazing orchestra located north of us in Sun Valley. Every summer they put on a free summer concert series and invite amazing guests to come play. We have been able to see the 3 most famous violinists in the world play on this stage.
Such a neat experience and one that we love to repeat every summer. This past August this amazing man came to play. We went up early Saturday morning so we could sit close and watch him practice with the orchestra. He makes it look so effortless, but don't be deceived!!
We met our good friends up there and all the kids loved hanging out together while we were so uplifted.
The two besties and so glad we have such great friends that all play the same musical instruments as my kids. Helps so much!
After the rehearsal, our violin teacher set up a meeting up on the lawn. Joshua came and out and answered the kids questions (like his violin only cost 3.5 million when he bought it--a 1713 Stradivarius--and is now worth over 12 million). He was very patient with them and let them ask all sorts of things.
Afterwards he signed paper,
and took a group shot with the kids. What an amazing experience!!
We then had the whole afternoon to play while we waited for the evening concert to start. We played games (Luke is ticked because he was losing, can you tell...haha),
explored Sun Valley,
got delicious and over priced ice cream (it is Sun Valley after all!!),
visited with our friends, ate a picnic dinner, and then watched the concert on the jumbotron. The screen is massive and you can see if no matter where you sit. It's the best way to enjoy a summer evening and so fun to be together as a family and with great friends.
