She did what you are asking.....she quit sucking her thumb!!! We are so proud of Kathryn, we have been diligently working on this since she was 2 and in speech therapy and she decided that it was possible and accomplished her goal. A couple weeks ago we had a family night on goal setting and we each picked a spiritual goal or two (in my case) and another one. For her other goal Kathryn said she wanted to quit sucking her thumb. We said go for it and she did it. A week and half later (the family reunion really helped keep her distracted) and she hasn't sucked it once!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Note: the reason she is wearing this dress up dress is that when she was 3, almost 4, I took her to the toy store and told her that she could pick out whatever she wanted and when she quit sucking her thumb she could have it. Well this is what she picked out. It has been hanging in her room for 3 years, not worn once, just waiting for the day. She was so excited to put it on and tonight we are having a party for her and the theme is "she did it"!!!

YAY!!!! Good thing she is so tiny and can still fit into things that she got 2 years ago! That is a great idea about the goal setting fhe, I will have to keep that one in mind for a couple years down the road.
