WARNING....very long post....but oh so awesome!!!
Oh gosh!! Where do I even start.....guess I'll just start at the beginning.
I have the best sisters and mom a gal could ask for. I LOVE being with them. I LOVE that we are all grown up now and totally get along. I LOVE that we have a girls weekend every year. It is the best thing ever!!
This year Jess was in charge so on a beautiful Thursday afternoon, my mom stopped in town and picked up Natalie and I. We ate sushi on the way for lunch (and don't say gross because I did all the time until I tried the most amazing sushi place here in Twin--I'm in love now!!) along with our diet cokes and talked and talked and talked.
We stopped in Pocatello for a potty break, another pop, and that cute girl up there. It was back in the car and headed to Salt Lake. We drove straight to Gardner Village. Man do we love that place. We wandered around the fabric shop (one of the best around--seriously my mom knows!!), checked out all the witches, wandered around the Christmas shop, and ate caramel apples. Mmmm, so delicious!
We spent the night with our cousin Jill in Salt Lake. We had a great visit with her and stayed up way too late. The next day we got up early, early for vacation anyway....haha, drove over to a friend of Jenny's and picked her up and Charlotte--the newest niece in the family. She had flown in from Houston so it was so fun to see both of them. We hit the road again, at least for an hour before Charlotte pooped up her entire back and we needed to clean her and her car seat up. No worries, got that taken care of, grabbed lunch, another diet coke, and headed to Cedar City to get Jessica.
We loaded her up, walked through a super fun vintage store there, and shared a waffle from the waffle truck (pumpkin caramel--delicious!!). Then it was off to St George to spend the rest of our weekend. Boy we sure couldn't get enough of this girl!!
We fought over her quite often.
Especially since we haven't seen her since the day she was born. Such a cutie!!
Just hanging out with Grandma.
And me.
We spent that night eating at Chili's, relaxing at the hotel and getting caught up on our cable TV (bride day anyone?).
The next morning we headed over to the Temple. It was packed, I've never seen the likes of it before. But hey it's a good thing, right?
We wandered around the grounds for awhile--Emily had Charlotte--and coerced some nice people to take a picture of us. We then made our obligatory stop at SWIG before heading the 25 Main for the most delicious lunch. It's a cute little cafe in downtown St George but wow!! the food was amazing.
Next was a store that Jessica had been ranting and raving about it. It's called Urban Renewal. And man did it live up to the reviews. It was a blast.
We could of spent the entire day in that place. There were so many things I wanted to come home with and it was a good thing there was no room in that vehicle of ours!!
We took these wigs off the mannequins and had a photo shoot. Haha...maybe brown hair doesn't suit us all??!!
Next we were off to our appt for pedicures. Wasn't super great at all but it was fun to sit there all together.
And I promise we weren't all on our phones the entire time.
Emily got a manicure so Natalie helped her out with a drink. She didn't want to mess up her nails!!
After we had pretty feet and toes we went to the mall to do some more shopping. Jessica is expecting her first baby so we of course had to wander around Motherhood. Emily found a fake belly to try on. I even found a super cute shirt (not at Motherhood mind you) for $0. It was awesome. Love coupons!!
And of course we had another pop stop in there. We even introduced Charlotte--haha just getting but she did love holding it for us. Such a cute girl!!
That night we had dinner at a Thai and Sushi place. Delicious! I love finding fabulous food.
All of us.
That night we had a book swap. We got 2 pints of Ben and Jerry's from the store, talked about why we picked the book we did, and then traded. It was a blast. Love those ladies!!
Then we had a facial/hair party.
We did each other's hair super crazy and took before and after pictures.
I put a cup in Emily's hair. It made her look so tall, it was hilarious.
The facials were a blast too. My mom and I had a clear shiny one on so you can't really see ours but boy we did we laugh until we were completely silly.
The next morning, after over sleeping our alarm, we barely made it to a local sacrament meeting, then changed clothes and headed to Zion's Park to enjoy God's amazingness.
We ate our picnic lunch, loaded up on the trolley and headed off.
We did 3 different hikes. Man was it such a gorgeous day, perfect for being outside and being together.
We look pretty awesome right?!
Hike #2
Wow!! Isn't that absolutely gorgeous!! Loved the colors up there.
The last hike was up the narrows. Not everyone was brave enough to try the waters, but 4 of us went up a little ways together.
That water was mountain cold. After 5 minutes you couldn't feel your feet anymore so no worries on that account.
It was so fun to see that. I had never been up that far before and wish we had time to go further but it was sure fun to try and not fall over and lose shoes all along the way.
By the end, we were so starving. Like eat anything in site starving. Not good!!
We stopped at one of Jessica's favorite places outside Zions, Oscars, and ate dinner. Man I don't think I have had food that good, ever. Not joking. The fish tacos were pay any price good. I would recommend that place a 100 times over.
We got to eat outside with the sun setting and the best company and girl could ask for.
We ended the night with blizzards, and relaxing out sore, tired muscles in the hot tub. Ahhh...nothing like hot water and a shower. Makes life pretty good!!
The next morning we had to be out by 630am to make sure we had everyone dropped off so we had a day like the first, but in reverse order. Almost anyway, we didn't stop quite so often. But Natalie and I did fulfill one of our childhood memories. We LOVED funyuns growing up and I haven't had them for at least 20 years so we stopped and picked some up for the drive home. So fun!!
Man do I love those ladies but I was so happy to be home to see Sam and the kids. I am so grateful for such a supportive man who encourages me to go and takes care of the kids so well. Love him!!
