Sarah's 12th Birthday

Can you believe she's 12!!??

We can't either...what happened to us...but wow, she sure is beautiful!!
We started the morning off by going to the temple. My sister Natalie and I took her. She had gotten her recommend the night before and was so excited to go. She said she barely slept that night. So cute!! She had gotten some family names from my parents to do and she loved it. When we got home we ate her favorite breakfast, crepes with fruit and cream cheese and whip cream (I'm not sure it's legal to call it breakfast but whatever....).
For her birthday lunch she decided on 5 guys--so surprising for a salad and fruit girl but she loved it. I loved spending the time with her. Visiting and getting to know her heart.

She had her favorite thing ever for dinner (spaghetti, salad, and homemade french bread...hasn't changed yet, maybe someday...). And then homemade cream puffs for dessert. I love that she doesn't choose cake for her dessert, a girl after my own heart!!
She was so excited to be getting the book she has been waiting for for ages. It showed up the day it was released and she couldn't wait.
Can you tell Luke loved the cream puffs too??!!
Our sweet, wonderful neighbors always get the kids birthday gifts. She got a watch from them and was so excited. They are great neighbor grandparents and the kids love it.
Aunt Natalie got her a CTR ring and a bag with items for the temple (shampoo, conditioner, comb, etc). She is one lucky girl!! That night she also got to go to mutual for the first time. So many firsts on her birthday. It was one exciting day for this girl.
My kids get to have birthday parties with friends when they are 8, 12 and 16, so this year was a huge deal for this girl and she had been planning it for months. She finally decided on an acting theme.
Natalie was a huge help in decorating. I couldn't of done it without her. So glad she's so awesome!! We need a red carpet, "hollywood" stars with each of the girls names, a sign for play (the girls each had a part in the play she has been writing, they acted it out while Natalie filmed them, and then we watched it on the TV), and 3 different kinds of popcorn.
Playing some games while we wait for all the guests to arrive.
Deciding on costumes.
Scene 3.
Lunch...each girl got an specialized individual pizza. So fun!! (we did add some veggies...and ranch...)
On to the presents. She wanted to be able to remember who everyone is in case she "forgets when she gets old" (haha...probably true) so in no particular order...Taylor.
Vanessa.
Savannah.
Cierra.
Brynlee.
Mary Ann.
Audrey.
Kira.
Makayla.
All the fun girls posing on the red carpet. It turned out so well. We loved watching the play and I think the girls had a great time. Natalie and I were bushed by the end but Sarah loved it!!
12 things we love about Sarah:
1. She adores music. She has always been the one who practices without ever being asked. It's her down time.
2. Her love of napping--totally reminds me of my self--if we can't find her she is usually in her bed taking a nap.
3. Her determination to learn how to be a good runner.
4. She loves to read her scriptures. No matter how late it is at night, she won't go to sleep until she has read them.
5. She loves to ask questions. Quite thoughtful ones. Love to see the way her mind works.
6. Her love of reading.
7. Her loyalty to her friends. Sometimes it makes her sad when it's not reciprocated but she is completely loyal.
8. Her creativeness. She loves to write the most fantastic stories.
9. Her love of animals. She always looks out for them and is completely loyal and dedicated to their well being.
10. Her courage to be always dress modestly and follow the commandments.
11. She has to be tucked in every night. Not joking...she says it keeps the monsters away.
12. Her love to do well in whatever she is involved with. She wants to be her best, school, sports, music, whatever. She goes the extra mile and it is so important to her.
We love you Sarah!!
