Kathryn was dying to play softball again this year. Even though I played it all growing up, it still isn't my favorite thing. Especially since our city plays it in the hot, hot, days of summer.
This year they started fast pitching under hand to the other team. Some games were rough and we only got through 2 innings in 2 hours. Whew!! They got better as we went along but wow!!
The kids were not always super excited to come, but they endured and at least loved getting some reading time in or talking to Dad time. I helped in the dug out every game and loved being with the girls.
Her batting has improved greatly and it is so fun to see.
Her goal for this year was to learn to pitch.
She is very strong and has a lot of speed but the accuracy is still being worked out.
She was so excited to pitch in a game. She did amazing and even struck out 2 players. It was a 100 degree day and still she made it all the way through.
By the end I could tell something was bothering her but she wouldn't say but as soon as she came off the field she was white as a ghost and felt light headed and sick. Heat exhaustion is no fun!!
So proud of the improvement she made but so glad to be done. Yeah!!
