I started looking through pictures and realized I needed to do some serious catching up!!
In the above picture Seth and 3 of his friends decided to completely dismantle our old dishwasher. I had just gotten a new one (Can I get a HALLELUJAH!!! our old one wouldn't drain any water and we had been putting up with it for 6 months so this was amazing!!). Plus did you know that some dishwashers will actually clean off dishes and you don't have to clean them BEFORE you put them in. CRAZY, huh!!!
Needless to say, no one complains about doing dishes anymore and every time I open that dishwasher I am one happy momma! I have to resist the urge to not clean the dishes before I put them in but man am I one lucky lady!!
Also in June, my bestest friend ever Tara and her kids came and stayed 2 days with us. We had an absolute blast. The girls and Luke were in heaven to have someone to play with constantly, plus that gave Tara and I time to talk and talk and talk and talk. We maybe did a few other things like errands and weeding the garden but the talking and hanging out was the best part!! And let's not forget the Diet Coke and Dr Pepper (haha!!).
While they were here we also did our annual school paper burning party. Luke had been excitedly looking forward to this for weeks and was super happy when we "FINALLY" did it (in his words).
Luke became quite creative in the ways to get the paper into the fire and had to be a part of all the action.
Seth just wanted to annoy or scare everyone and had himself a great time as well.
The kids find such joy in burning things. It is hilarious to watch and lets face it, so does Sam.
I just had to put this picture in of Luke. He was trying to photo bomb and I would say he did a pretty good job.
Can you tell that this girl loves the dog? I find her most of the day outside with him and mostly in funny positions like this. Anytime she sits down outside, he comes right by her and puts his head in her lap. He totally knows who loves him the most.
Aunt Emily came and spent a weekend with us. We headed out to Dierkes and loved enjoying the cold water and hot weather. Anybody else hot out there??? We were at 107 yesterday. Wow!!
Plus we had a thunderstorm one day too. It just poured for about 15 minutes and as soon as it let up the kids donned their coats and headed outside to float sticks down the gutters. It totally makes their day especially when they come upon blocked ones. It backs up and makes a huge pool and even your husband plays in the middle of it. So weird!!
If Sarah is not sitting with Captain, she can be found teaching him to go through obstacle courses in the backyard (don't mind the grass, or lack of it, we are killing it all and starting over!!).
This will even entertain Kathryn and Luke for hours also. He's quite the jumper and they are always trying something new. I have to say I am a little impressed (:
One evening I came outside to everyone just talking and playing with Captain. Seriously!!?? Am I the only one that is absolutely not in love with this dog? He is very good just not my favorite thing in the world. So here's to many more summer adventures and trying to stay cool!!!
